This Week: Sunset Park Greenway Forum, Ecocity Visions

Between the Passover and Easter holidays, the highlights this week are both on Wednesday: An UPROSE forum about implementation plans for the Brooklyn Greenway in Sunset Park, and a lecture presenting a radical vision of ecological urban living.

    • Wednesday: The United Puerto Rican Organization of Sunset Park hosts a Greenway Implementation Forum providing information and organizing opportunities in advance of DOT's Brooklyn Greenway public workshops. 6:30 p.m. Before the forum, you can join UPROSE for an environmental justice tour of the greenway route, which starts at 4 p.m. Also Wednesday: Richard Register explains his vision of an Ecocity in a lecture entitled "No Wars and No Cars." 7:30 p.m.
    • Saturday: The Museum of the City of New York has created an exhibit on the intertwined and antagonistic relationship between NYC and the automobile. As part of the exhibit, catch a silent film, "Speedy," about the efforts to save the last horse-drawn trolley bus. 2 p.m.
    • Sunday: Time's Up's Love Your Lane Ride in Brooklyn. 2 p.m.
