Wednesday’s Headlines: No USPS in Bike Lanes Today Edition
Today's national day of mourning for George Herbert Walker Bush has an added side benefit: The United States Postal Service says it will not deliver mail on Wednesday to honor the 41st President, father of the 43rd President, World War II hero, former CIA director, sock aficionado, former Vice President and, lest we forget, really good (and sort of ironic) friend of Bill Clinton.

Tuesday’s Headlines: Why Don’t MTA Board Members Use the MTA Edition
Yes, it's going to get tiring, but Streetsblog has launched its annual December donation drive, which is what we'll be talking about all month. Please do what you can to help keep the Streetsblog NYC team of Gersh Kuntzman and David Meyer, and Streetsblog USA reporter Angie Schmitt, fighting the livable streets battle for another year. We've had some great victories this year and want to keep the momentum going. So click that yellow rectangle and give if you can.

Friday’s Headlines: ‘You Get a Citi Bike, And You Get a Citi Bike…’ Edition
The day was dominated by some pretty big news: Citi Bike will finally (well, over the next five years) expand, doubling its current coverage and adding 28,000 bikes. Everyone covered it, including Streetsblog, the Daily News (which had blamed Mayor de Blasio in 2017 in a memorable post), the Post, amNY, Bklyner, the Wall Street Journal, and even Endgadget, but not the Times (oddly).

Thursday’s Headlines: Cars Are Killing Machines, Scooters are Not Edition
For the second straight day, scooters dominated the news cycle. Our own David Meyer spent the morning at City Hall to prepare his overview of the four related City Council bills. And our editor vented his prodigious spleen at the mayor.

Wednesday’s Headlines: Scooter Day in the Committee Room
Yes, that's a James Joyce reference, but people will be getting very e-motional at City Hall today, thanks to a package of bills aimed to legalize e-scooters and e-bikes. Streetsblog will be there in force, so come back to the 'blog early and often. One prediction: This is going to play out badly for our side, as every two-bit reporter in town starts interviewing old ladies who claim they're always being hit by cyclists and scooters when, in fact, they are very frequently being hit by cars.

Tuesday’s Headlines: Saying Goodbye to Jose Peralta Edition
All of New York's political class*, will attend the funeral service for State Senator Jose Peralta, who died last week at age 47. We had a beef or two with Peralta, but he was a strong supporter of many street safety issues, including speed cameras. He will be missed.

Monday’s Headlines: Boy, There’s a Lot to Do Tonight
Start your week off right by picking among multiple important events tonight! First, there will be a big anti-Amazon rally in Court Square in Long Island City at 5 p.m. (but construction workers say they're all in for Bezos's boondoggle, according to Crain's). Whatever side you're on, only stay for an hour so you can head to one of two important workshops at 6:30 p.m.: On W. 26th St., Council Speaker Corey Johnson and Bike NY are sponsoring a primer on how to bicycle through the winter. Details are here. At the same time in Williamsburg, Courtney Williams, aka The Brown Bike Girl, will hold a workshop on how much money you can save by cycling.

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday and have already devoured that turkey-stuffing-cranberry sauce sandwich. We're not really working today, but did want to give you some news to chew on:
