Monday’s Headlines: Boy, There’s a Lot to Do Tonight
Start your week off right by picking among multiple important events tonight! First, there will be a big anti-Amazon rally in Court Square in Long Island City at 5 p.m. (but construction workers say they're all in for Bezos's boondoggle, according to Crain's). Whatever side you're on, only stay for an hour so you can head to one of two important workshops at 6:30 p.m.: On W. 26th St., Council Speaker Corey Johnson and Bike NY are sponsoring a primer on how to bicycle through the winter. Details are here. At the same time in Williamsburg, Courtney Williams, aka The Brown Bike Girl, will hold a workshop on how much money you can save by cycling.

Friday’s Headlines: Leftover Turkey Sandwich Edition
We hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday and have already devoured that turkey-stuffing-cranberry sauce sandwich. We're not really working today, but did want to give you some news to chew on:

Wednesday’s Headlines: Working for Turkey Edition
You might be tempted to not check Streetsblog every half-hour today like you always do, given that the great David Meyer is on a Bolt bus to his ancestral home for America's great national feast. But remember: City officials love to drop big news when people aren't paying attention — so click "refresh" early and often today, just in case.

Tuesday’s Headlines: So Long, Marty, We Hardly Knew Ye Edition
State Senator Marty Golden's tenure as a street safety impediment ended with his final concession Monday to Democrat Andrew Gounardes in their thisclose race. Lots of outlets covered it, including the Daily News and amNY (playing it straight), Gothamist (pointing out Golden's failure to support speed cameras), and Streetsblog (turning Golden's concession into a retrospective on his years of fighting for unsafe streets). Bottom line: pedestrians and cyclists who value their lives won't miss Marty Golden.

Monday’s Headlines: Watch NY1 at 7:30 This Morning Edition
Streetsblog editor Gersh Kuntzman will be on NY1 this morning, chatting with Pat Kiernan about the mayor's handling of the snowstorm last week. Watch for Kuntzman to redirect the conversation towards Hizzoner's ill-guided expansion of the city's car fleet, his non-existent crackdown on placard abuse and his waffling on congestion pricing. Also look for Kuntzman to criticize the mayor for his Trumpian attacks on the local press corps. It'll be a fun seven minutes on Kiernan's couch!

Friday’s Headlines: Yes, We Are Finally Counting Ballots Today Edition
Yes, we'll finally start our day at the Board of Elections, where officials will count the absentee ballots to determine once and for all if Democrat Andrew Gounardes actually beat street safety pariah (and eight-term State Senator) Marty Golden. Gounardes holds a seemingly insurmountable 1,100-vote lead.

Thursday’s Headlines: Island Hopping (or Hoping) Edition
This morning, it'll be cold and, eventually, rainy, but Streetsblog will start the day at Delancey and Allen, where the Department of Transportation says it has fixed the "Island of Despair" of its own making (remember our shocking video here). (Update: Story is here.) After that, we'll go to the Board of Elections to watch them count the absentee ballots in the Andrew Gounardes-Marty Golden race (Democrat Gounardes has an almost-insurmountable lead, but ya gotta count every vote!). (Update: The Board of Elections has put off the count until Friday!)

Wednesday’s Headlines: We’re Crashing from the Amazon Sweetheart Deal Edition
The sugary deal between Amazon and the city and state dominated Tuesday's coverage, with most wags (including Streetsblog) casting a dubious eye on how much money Gov. Cuomo is spending to lure 25,000 jobs to Long Island City. We defy you to find a better curated list of coverage of the Amazon-sized Amazon announcement. Here's our rundown:

Tuesday’s Headlines: Count the Votes Edition
Exciting news out of southern Brooklyn: The Board of Elections will start counting absentee ballots to figure out if Democrat Andrew Gounardes actually beat eight-term incumbent and street safety pariah Marty Golden. Election Day ended with Gounardes up by 1,100-plus votes, but there are about 1,400 absentee ballots to be counted. We'll be on hand to make sure all those signatures collected from old people at senior centers match up to the buff cards on file. (Update: This will be Thursday, we are told.)
