The latest streets and transportation news from Streetsblog NYC.

One of the big stories yesterday: The Mamdani administration admitted at a Council hearing that it hasn’t put aside enough money to enforce the Council’s worker protection laws.

That’s concerning to anyone who cares about safe streets because delivery workers often feel rushed when their app overlords threaten to deactivate them.

As always, Sophia Lebowitz has the story.

Not to be outdone, Dave Colon looked at a nascent effort to get the NYPD out of the DOT’s business (or at least what once was the DOT’s business) of traffic enforcement.

Plus other news, and today’s headlines. We really set you up for the weekend, don’t we?
