It started on Friday afternoon (naturally) with Mayor Adams’s announcement that he would erase three blocks of the Bedford Avenue bike lane — which his DOT only completed late last year — on the grounds that it is unsafe.
Then he ramped it up with another propaganda video depicting bike riders — not parents who leave their kids off in the middle of the street and tell them to run into traffic — as the villains.
This comes after six weeks of criminalizing cycling and, more recently, pushing for bike speed limits before he even gets around to slowing down cars.

Just one hour before the kickoff for the 2026 World Cup, the Mamdani administration finally released the full list of more than 100 free watch parties to celebrate the world’s game in all five boroughs.
