The latest streets and transportation news from Streetsblog NYC.
It’s another blockbuster day for the Streetsblog team, and this newsletter reflects their hard work. First up, Dave Colon finally got MTA CEO Janno Lieber to reveal that he’s considering a wider array of fare-capping options as next year’s scheduled fare hike looms.
We also have an exclusive op-ed from Department of Transportation Commissioner Mike Flynn, who seeks to silence the critics of Mayor Mamdani’s bid to repair Robert Moses’s greatest mistake: The Brooklyn Queens Expressway. We also have a great bit of news from Kevin Duggan: DOT appears to be considering a protected bike lane around Grand Central Terminal — part of the agency’s very solid Park Avenue plan, which we previously covered. Duggan, a Robert Caro fan, definitely turned every page to get you this story.
