Janet Liff has been an advocate for complete streets for decades. The first gas crisis and Earth Day in the 1970s left its mark on her. Ever since then, she has favored biking,walking and transit over cars. She has a background in public policy and real estate and serves on the Board of StreetsPAC and is a (public) member of the Manhattan CB2 Traffic and Transportation Committee.
