The latest streets and transportation news from Streetsblog NYC.

Our top story today is another top-notch piece about our political leaders’ misguided belief in the infallibility of cops by newcomer Sammy Sussman. Thanks to information obtained by Streetsblog, Sussman learned about Troop NYC, an arm of the State Police beefed up in 2017 by then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo during one of his many pissing matches with then-Mayor Bill de Blasio.

One cop sat in a parking lot for five hours. Another slept with his girlfriend at her place in Harlem. Another went home (to New Jersey!), visited a strip club, got drunk, assaulted a woman and then got arrest.

All violated the trust of taxpayers.

It’s a must-read.
