Manhattan Community Board 8 Transportation Committee Discusses Congestion Pricing and Upper East Side Bike Lanes

Manhattan Community Board 8’s transportation committee will hold a discussion of congestion pricing (expect a discussion of the "border effects" of East 86th Street) and on bike lanes planned for segments of East 89th, 90th and 91st Streets.

  • After an hour long discussion, CB8 Passed a resolution 10-4 in support of the Mayor’s congestion pricing plan.

CB8 also approved the bike lane on 90th street and objected strongly to running a bike lane through a car-free street on 91st between Second and Third. The board proposed instead a route from 89th to Third Ave and then north to 91st and across to Fifth and then down to 90th to connect with the Central Park loop.
