Catch Elizabeth, Clarence, and Robin at tonight's soiree.

If you haven’t snapped up a spot at Streetfilms’ fall fundraiser, there are still a handful of tickets left. On tap for the evening: food and drink, previews of Streetfilms in the making, and a few words from special guest Randy Cohen, “The Ethicist.”

The festivities start at 6:30 at 148 Lafayette Street in Manhattan, and I hear it may be tough to get a ticket at the door. To support Streetfilms and purchase a ticket in advance, RSVP here.

Two laws designed to decrease pollutants and other safety hazards posed by idling vehicles passed the City Council this week. As shown in this Streetfilm by Elizabeth Press, Council Member John Liu’s Intro 631 cuts down the amount of time drivers are allowed to idle near schools from three minutes to one minute. A second […]

Streetfilms: Excuses

|
Streetfilms’ Clarence Eckerson was walking around Manhattan one day last summer feeling what he describes as "a little sympathy for what it must be like to be a ticket writer in this town." He turned on his ever-present video camera and began shooting illegally parked cars and the variety of placards, badges and hand-scrawled notes […]
