  • Ben Garber

The two articles on the Bushwick DJ cite two different intersections – both extremely dangers.

  • Ben Garber

Also, I wish StreetsBlog, when possible, would note when cyclists were wearing helmets when it reports on bike accidents. I am very curious.

  • Joe R.

Why? Nearly 100% of these cyclist deaths involve collisions with motor vehicles. In such collisions, a helmet would be totally ineffective.

  • Kevin Love

Ben, you may be curious, but there are very good reasons why this should not be done.

    1. It is irrelevant to the reportage.
    2. It feeds into a “blame the victim” narrative.

    This is like someone writing:

“I wish reports of rape and sexual assault would note when the victim was provocatively dressed. I am very curious.”

  • will

Hey Ben. Speak plainly: what’s your agenda? Be brave rather than cryptic. Say that you think cyclists are different, inhuman; they break rules, all of them do, and must be punished. If they die it’s their own fault. That’s what you believe, isn’t it?
